The work to scope and pilot a North Lancashire Food Hub is undertaken by LESS (Lancaster District)
CIC. This project is funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

The North Lancashire Food Hub Feasibility Report was undertaken with funding from Closing Loops,
a collaborative project to stimulate a regenerative and zero-waste economy in North Lancashire.
Closing Loops is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund and delivered by six partner
organisations including LESS (Lancaster District) CIC.

The Food Hub Feasibility Work is undertaken as part of the FoodFutures partnership to deliver on
the local ten-year Community Food Strategy developed in 2021.

Food hub infrastructure was identified as missing by Sustain in their report A Tale of Two Counties which explored what was needed to strengthen local food cultures in Lancashire and East Sussex.

The feasibility work is available here.

A pilot is expected to be developed during 2024.
