Just as human flourishing is only possible if we have a healthy planet that supports us, so the work that we do at LESS is only possible if our organisation stays strong and resilient.
Since we began in 2007, we’re proud to have initiated, supported and nurtured a range of environmental initiatives, many of which have been strategically important for the local area. This includes North Lancashire FoodFutures, the district’s Sustainable Food Places partnership, which achieved national recognition with a Silver Award for its work in 2023; the birth of the first ever Northern Real Farming Conference in 2020 and, in 2022, the launch of Closing Loops, a five year programme of work to stimulate a thriving and regenerative local economy in North Lancashire.
In stepping up to hold this work, LESS is enabling genuine transformative change to take place across the region and beyond. However, sustaining this level of change is not without its challenges, particularly in a climate where grant funding is becoming increasingly hard to find. That’s why we would love for those who feel able, to support us with a regular or one-off donation.
