About

Become a volunteer with the Home Energy Service and help friends and neighbours save money, energy and cut carbon.

Various volunteer roles within the LESS energy sector are currently available. These include:

- Home Energy Surveyor

- Energy Advisor

- Office Administration Support

Our volunteer training sessions go through the structure of the organisation and the need for the Service, basic energy advice information such as how to recognise cavity wall insulation, how to date a building etc, as well as staying safe whilst surveying. All our volunteers are CRB checked.

For more information on volunteering, and to find out about our next training dates, please email James or call the office on 01524 66100. You can also find our volunteering opportunities on the Do-It website.

Benefits for volunteers include:

  • Training in energy advice
  • Regular newsletters
  • Invitations to other LESS events
  • Free thermal imaging of your home
  • Travel expenses paid (bike mileage is paid at the same rate as car mileage)
