Where is energy used?
About one third of all UK greenhouse gas emissions are caused by energy use in our homes. Heating contributes more than all other home energy use put together, but electrical appliances, water heating, lighting and cooking also use significant amounts of energy.
How can home energy use be reduced?
There are lots of things you can do to save energy at home. Lots of them cost nothing. Others mean an initial outlay, but are worth doing because they will save on bills and carbon emissions in the long run.
